This is what the company wants, keep the goals unattainable we all make $800 or $900 in commission and pretty soon that $1350 looks good. He days of the 3 and $4000 commission checks are gone. This company doesn't give 2 c-aps about it's employees, and that will be one of it's greatest downfalls. Your customers are only as happy as your employees, that is a fact, people are dropping like flies in my district, but the company doesn't care. They want us to leave on our own accord, then there is no mass layoff, no news story, stores can slowly be closed through attrition, we in the stores can see the writing on the wall, pushing people on line, in store pickups, better discounts online than in store, no more data transfer or trouble shooting in store, just send them to assurion. Be prepared people, this company is going to let anhell of alot more people ho.

I am no longer in sales and yes I am one of those that made 4-5k commission every month (3.5 years ago)... Looking at a fellow employees structure. Its just not possible now.
By “sell” you mean manipulate accounts right? Quitting that piece of sh-- job was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life.
Hell yeah! Let's get a union! Being forced to work in a job where we're expected to sell things is BS. Union! Union! Union!
Its time to get unions in!!!!!!!
Must be nice, my quota is over 10,000 for my bucket.
To the guy asking about how I'm making $3000 to $5000 commission: it's all about TMP. My bucket quota is $6750 this month and right now im at $21000. Max out TMP MD and set up as many business accounts as possible to help your PT. It's difficult to get above like a 1.7 for phones so focus more on the bucket. This is my third month windfalling in a row.
To the the person and two other dudes mailing 3000-5000. Quick question please elaborate your process pretty please.
Way back in the day....I knew an outside sales rep that scored a contract with a good sized school district to provide the district with flip phones and have 3 watt bags installed in every school bus-before that became taboo-as their mobile radios did not have the range. I remember him showing us his two checks he got.....because payroll could not issue a check over $25,000........good old days;-)
Been here for 11 yrs, lots of comp changes, ( which always have you sell more and make less ) this by far is the worst. Nobody in my store is making more, I know of no people that are making more. Tell us your little secret to making more money. Let the cat out of the bag, we all want to hear it....I sold more year over year the last 6 months of the year and made far less money compared to July-Dec of last year.
Making more money in my location. Company has to change with the market or die. If you aren't making money, you don't know how to adjust to a comp change... roll with changes or leave. Your bad attitude ain't helping and it seems you'd rather see the whole ship go down rather than adjust to the winds
I’ll start off by saying I am a-- at a store. There are a couple things everyone needs to realize.
-
A trained monkey could do our job.
-
A business will do what’s best for the business
-
Phone technology is plateauing and customers aren’t buying phones like they used to
-
The buying market will soon be the millennial generation who does all their shopping online.
Verizon has seen these factors and is making changes accordingly. It’s not a personal thing to screw an individual sales rep over. The writing has been on the wall for over a year now that these changes were coming, starting with training our previously dependent customers to be self sufficient (smart setup, setup later, tech coach). The way I see it, reps that have grown accustom to the 3-4K commission checks have two options: Adjust your standard of living to match your new income or find another job that will allow you to maintain your standard of living.
It’s only a matter of time before commissions are gone, wait and see!
I wonder who's doing what every time I enter a store an 3 to 4 folks are on their mobile devices. Maybe they're on sales force. Generating business leads.
Selling phones in the ac and making huge amts of money SHOULD be over. Everyone was lucky to make that to begin with. Quit I say. Leave if you are better. Nobody is forcing anyone to stay. While you typed this you could have been working on your resume.
Babies!!!
I've been here over 10 years, there are some bad reps, but even the good reps are leaving, nobody is making money, my 3000 commission is now 1400, and I'm selling more. People are complaining because we are doing the jobs of 4 or 5 people and making less every year, we are micromanaged beyond belief by managers that don't have a clue. We are threatened daily with our jobs for not hitting unattainable numbers and the only people hitting numbers are the people that are lying and slamming sh-- on customers.
Bad reps still complaining about not making money? Not surprised
Same bad reps who don't know the product
Who can't sell
Who rely on clerking
Who can't even greet or thank a customer properly
Same bad reps still complaining
Bad reps who want to be managers making them bad managers .
Sound familiar ?
Retail is dead
Me and two other dudes in my store make $3000-$5000 commission checks. New structure has been great for us, I'm always surprised to hear that it's the opposite for so many reps
You should get use to those low commission checks. When they slam the doors closed on your store, you'll never earn the money you're making now.
Yea, you're getting paid what that job should have been paying all along.. Verizon is still a company that needs to make money and paying a bunch of lazy ex olive garden employees to slam accounts 60 grand isn't a viable business practice. Use what time you have left to get a stem degree and actually earn some money. Don't be so damn entitled.
