I have been on this site for over two years now and have read every post, and one thing I’ve learned is that we all know changes are coming but the information on this site is normally only correct about 30-40% of the time. We have to try to stay as calm as possible and not get too worked up, I know it’s easier said than done. Home-office has made a ton of changes that were never even mentioned on the site and they made some that were mentioned on here. We all just have to be ready, as we know they are going to make changes and adjustments every year going forward based on the needs of the company. Everyone just needs to position themselves so that they can land on the correct side of whatever changes happen. Good Luck Everyone..

Changes are inevitable so learn all that you can. Make yourself valuable. Be adaptable. Don’t worry about things that haven’t happened yet.
your pay exceeded your value, that simple
We all know its just business, Im sure we all get that. Its the way they handle it . When you let id--ts decide on who stays and who goes based on how brown your nose is , yes, you get angery people. When they let so many good Managers and hourlys go just because they think they make too much, yes , you get angry people. When you have worked for a Company for years who valued your work and dedication, then change and don't care about you anymore, yes, you get angry people. These people have a right to be angry. I just hope for them, it doesn't last. As for me ..... I walked away on my decision , my values and thankful to have been a part of this Company when it was great to work for years ago ......... and could not be happier.
I get why so many are angry remember it’s just business. Everyone these days takes everything so personal. It’s your choice if you stay or go don’t down others because they choose to stay.
Retail will not be so easy to come by in the near future. Why would anyone go from Sam's to another retail company? Get out of the garbage and get a real adult job. Retail is for the younger ones trying to find their way in life. It's just lazy to choose unskilled labor as a career path. A lot of us have found decent paychecks at better companies. We left the retail behind. It's not as hard as you think.
In this climate with this type of Operator , you really need to be prepared for one constant . That is change, they have done this nearly every year, in some form or another. Given how volatile retail has become, you have to be ready for whatever comes our way. Happy New Year, May we all find Peace and Good fortune in 2019.
Peace!!
Some people enjoy a decent pay check for doing unskilled labor, it's not like there's not a million retail jobs if you lose this one.
I would say the percentage is higher. It just happens later than expected. I'm just wondering how long it will take for people to realize that there is no future with this company. I got slapped in the face with serious changes only twice before I woke up. Some people are glutton for punishment.
Well said and with sincerity
