Store plan is ridiculously low and we’re barely sc-aping by some days. We either make it by a few hundred or miss it by more.

Did you expect sales to be good this Christmas? You fire HC, Nook, Bargain, Receiving, magazine people in every store. They tell their family and their friends what you did. none of them shop there anymore because who shops where you treat a friend or family like that ? That’s a lot of money you lost and will continue to lose.

Are The Seasonals gone yet? Back down to one cashier and 1 person roaming the floor, answering phones, and covering customer service?

Last year stores stayed open for an extra hour, and the store I worked at had hardly any foot traffic for that hour. The only customers that were there for the extra hour were cafe people who spend practically all day there. Keeping it open until midnight is absolutely ludicrous.

It appears that all stores are staying open between now and the 23rd until midnight--something I certainly can't recall seeing in my time there. I assume this is to goose a few bucks in sales to maybe make same store sales look better against LY. Thoughts?

Seems the District Managers are taking Corporate Execs around to stores to see who will stay and who will go.

"There is a mood of desperation and overwork due to staffing. People trained, then quitting after a week or so."

I would imagine the newbies quitting because they are overwhelmed by too much work and not enough training. Went into a Barnes a few months ago, and they had a new girl behind the info desk dealing with 10 people by herself. She was really stressed out.

Have the SMs been talking about sales? Have they said anything about how much your store needs to make?
