Has any one heard of the departments combining and what are they

Welll, that's not even new. Been going on for years, at least in central Il.
Years ago departments were combined 2 & 46, 11 & 12, 9 & 10 (unless there was an auto center), 4 & 13 plus neumorus ones in softlines- bet someone gets promoted by bringing back an old concept.
Some of the concept clubs in Texas have been trying different things with less management and people and new technology and processes. If they pan out, they implement them company wide. The gist of it is they've found out they can get away with less managers without really affecting anything.
