Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Where does the profit go

Ever wondered while you are working your a-- off to make your store profitable , where is the money going? In the days of old that profit was placed in pension funds for their employees! This caused employees to stay with one company their entire life! Employees today jump from job to job to job! You have figured out, today’s company gives a sh-- about you so you work for the cash and move on. You are not loyal! I say good for you old timers are living in the past with their loyalty to any company, especially this one !

So the national women’s associations is to blame for no pensions. That is annoying. It stil would have been more reason for CVS to at least not give out unrealistic payroll hours.

If I could be CEO for this company for 6 months I could retire and support my family for the rest of our lives.

Greed is out of control

There used to be pensions. But the National Organization for Women sued Sears about unfair pensions in the 70s, though Sears literally hired more women than anybody, and the case dragged on for 8 years, a case that Sears eventually won, recognizing that Sears in fact had some of the most aggressive affirmative action programs in existence. So of course companies reacted by eliminating pension plans altogether. This is why we can't have nice things.
