Wondering how many Honeywell employees on this board have a second job or some kind of side businesses? Just curious...

I work as a male prostitute, I figured that as I'm getting fcked all day by HON I might as well get fcked all night too..
2nd job ... like robbing graves or starting a hedge-fund.
Looks like he was true to form.
-1akw, -1mep: The iconic Clint E. quote comes to mind here: “You’re a legend in your own mind.”
1byo....ill speak for myself but I suspect everyone else on this board feels the same way. No one cares about your opinion. You know what they say about opinions...they are like a holes....everyone has them and they usually stink. The OP asked a question and I answered it. go project your jealousy and self doubt elsewhere and the let the adults talk....run along.

you seem to show up once every 6-9 months with the same tired story. Like the last time, I call BS this time, too. And everytime I call BS you're right back with pompous criticism. Will you stay true to form?
After consistently delivering, going above and beyond, putting the company first and always being a 2 or 1 in the 9 blocker I was never promoted as I should. I saw folks who could barely put two sentences together and not delivering 5h1t being promoted around me. I decided that this company was nothing more than a paycheck so I then did the minimum but gave the impression I was still going above and beyond. I decided you need to make your own opportunity in a cesspool like this so I invested in a business. It is a well known global brand that i wont mention here. first unit is opening soon with planned revenue in the 80 to 100 k per month on about 20k operating expense. units 2 and possibly 3 going up in within 12 to 18 months.
I hung low for a few years as well. I helped on projects here and there and just did my work and didn't ask for anything extra. During that time I started a business that grew and after a few years was making enough to replace my HON total rewards/income. I basically used my lunch breaks at HON to build my business and then had a second job on weekday evenings and weekends. Hard work but was so worth it.
My boss actually did me a solid and planned a layoff for me so I could get a bit of a parachute before leaving. I gave him a heads up that I was going to just do my business full time and he told me to wait and see if he could get me a little something. Freaking coolest dude ever, HON was so lucky to have him. I got about 5 months severance by waiting an extra 4 months. The Man above was watching out for me for sure.
I'm now full time at home running my little business. Couldn't be happier. Really sad how HON turned out because it was an incredible place to work in the early 2000's when I started. It slowly turned into a non friendly environment for the most part. I just miss my fellow worker bees. They made it just nice enough to keep coming back. Trick was finding a good boss who was kind and looked out for his employees. I was fortunate during most my time there.
The reasons why I made it a point to leave and start my own business:
Work life balance started to erode (telecommuting, etc.)
Other companies actually paid more and had better benefits - If not for my business would have just switched companies and gave 2 week notice like most people are doing now - that wasn't always the case as HON was known as one of higher paying employers earlier in my career.
Health insurance was top line when I began and was basically a bronze obamacare plan when I left
Company sponsored family events like Christmas party, santa ice skating event, spring family picnic, etc were eliminated - those made it fun and got families out together
Company leagues like basketball were eliminated. That was a great way to get to know your co workers around the company
Raises and promotions were non existent for normal band 5 employees after project "apple".
Furloughs/Layoffs when company didn't make enough money - stock always did well though
Eliminated free turkey at Thanksgiving...that was really cool of them to do that before
Dental plan benefits eliminated
401k match eliminated, then brought back at less than before. Then taken away for a 1 time a year match - 12 months in arrears.
Need I go on?
I buy and sell #gold
