I still cant figure out why we are handing out membership cards with no name and no pictures on them. We take their pic but once you scan their card at the register it does not show who they are. What is this all about any ideas?

Because these new registers will probably be ran without cashiers. Members can ring themselves up and get their own membership cards and everything all at the same place. Probably do returns as well. Imagine when they add face recognition? Bye bye associates

Come on guys, it's not hard to figure out. They probably won't sell membership cards in the future. This place is changing too much too fast. It will not be the same Sam's we knew. Either they're getting away from memberships or they're not going to care who uses them.
All will be fine. The overlords have declared it so.
What difference will it make? New computers? We have 6 regular lanes for members who do not want to use self-check out or Scan and Go? The lines are long and and tempers hot. Those will be the only cards scrutinized. Anyone can use anyone's card at self-checkout and use anyone's phone for Scan and Go. You don't have to pay to shop at Sam's if you know someone with a card.
@1cjr- we have enough issues with NCR keeping the computers/registers up and running now, you think the new ones will be any better?
New computers coming. When they swipe the card their picture comes up on the screen. Calm down snowflakes

Yeah they come to the desk asking questions about the membership using this new card. I have no idea who I’m talking to. Can’t ask for their drivers license every single time. I just don’t have the time. It’s not good.
Only thing about security purposes is anyone now can use these cards. If it has no name no picture why purchase a membership you can pass it around. They already do this on self checkouts. And cashiers dont have any way to tell who the cards belong to
Supposedly its for security reason so if you lose your card your name and pic isnt on it also for faster processing at the desk

I wondered the same thing. We did get boxes of new cameras. Way more cameras than we have registers at the desk. I seen a video on the wire where all new sign ups were done at what looked like regular registers. Took 45 seconds, so they said.
