Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Club Manager Schedule

Club managers used to be required to close 1or 2 nights a week. Normally worked 7-5. Mine NEVER closes and comes in at 6. Is this new? Or does my Club Manager think he is better then everyone else and follows his own rules and makes his own schedule? Wal Mart and Sam's managers had the same schedule. It may have changed. Was just curious!

How can you call them managers ? they do nothing but pass the buck! you ask them a question and you don't see them for a week.

Your manager thinks he’s better and is allowed to do what he wants and gets away with it. He is a problem and needs to be held accountable like everyone else

Well well well .. I walk out for 10 minutes and come back to this mess? Hahaha just jivin. But seriously, what a huge mess of hypacrites!!! Everyone is saying to leave the CM alone but then they jump all over a fresh manager? Doesn't take much logic to see that is off the charts stupid. No wonder you all still work at sinking ship like Sam's. You probably think a life vest will save you on that too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Cry you a river? Never. You are the same negative jerk that makes lame disrespectful comments on EVERY post. You really need to get a life. You are a miserable human.

Also, no one came here for advice. Someone came here and asked a question. A legit one at that! Instead everyones balls were tied in a knot!

@W8ci3rn-iwb Yes, butt hurt associates, a reflection of you. Great legacy I’m sure you are leaving behind. You should be proud of what you’ve accomplished. Not many people can say that they’ve started out in management making over 48k without a college education. Heck that’s the starting wage of many people that go to college. So yes take your severance and then go to Taco Bell and manage it. You’ll do great. Best wishes.

No, this fresh manager is not the original poster. I see a lot of butt hurt associates though. You can't argue with my comment, so you try to bring me down instead. Classic.

HO is changing things left and right. We are all working with what's given. Believe me, I am waiting on that severance myself. It is obvious to all that the place is crashing fast. Maybe I'll get picked for the next management restructure. Lord knows I don't kiss the a-- of anyone. Not even the precious CM. Bring it all.

Yes our fresh is always asking for more associates. They can’t ever get their work done in time. Best of all the fresh managers don’t hold them accountable for productivity or for calling in. Fresh managers are glorified team leads

Funny how everyone complains about John and Giselle flying around in planes, but don't you dare call out a CM. Get out of here with your two faces. I am a fresh manager. I have worked with and around several CM's. Most think they are untouchable and God's gift to Sam's. You people wonder why people don't come forward about things? Look how you treat someone who is. We don't know the rest of their story. Now go on and cry about being short staffed.

The rudeness and negativity for this question is disgusting. You all are the reason why Sam's Club has a bad wrap. You probably treat members as bad as you talk to associates. Asking a question on a "rumors" site is not stirring the pot. You have no clue as to what the purpose of the question is. You are ASSUMING. How about you get back to work and go take a happy pill and spread kindness instead of hate!

I stick by what I said. A CM needs to lead by example. This person was just asking a question. Get over yourself.

Here we go with the weekend thing.

It’s. Retail. Live. Breathe. Weekends.

Ask for your Saturday’s off when you want to go see your kids play.

If you’re unhappy go find your happiness.

I’m not sure if your looking for this website to give you that fortune cookie?

Ummm, it’s not asking a questions it’s just stirring a pot. Your experience isn’t a majority. Someone was already onto your cm and knew they were lazy and a slob. This isn’t rocket science it’s retail. And for someone to be concerned with the cm just amazes me. You all really don’t have enough to be concerned about and have to worry about the general manager. No one respects anyone anymore and it’s apparent in all aspects of our society. Did they sign up for all that comes with it? Yep sure did I’m sure however half didn’t know what they were getting into. So how about you go play in traffic? Too much time on your hands.

Ok wait a minute. This guy is just asking a question. So you're all saying that because someone is a club manager they get a pass? They do get a schedule and it comes from higher up. If every single person at Sam's has to follow rules then the CM is no different. In fact they're held to a higher standard. They asked for the phone call at night and coming in at crazy hours when they were hired. Just like every one of us. One of my old CM was like that. He would pick and choose what he felt like working. And he would close himself up in the office and was not allowed to be bothered. He was a lazy slob, and it caught up with him. He was forced to step down.

So what if this person notices that his CM isn't going by what they're told. He was only asking a question. Get off your high horse, and go play in traffic.

Boy are you guys hard on anyone that makes a questionably comment. Yes cm work long and hard, phone calls all the time of the days. I use to say I love my company or job, can’t say it anymore. I will continue to come work everyday, work schedule changes, and work my hardest for my company. I’ve had no coachings or below standard performance. We have become a company where there is no quality of life except for the club managers. In market 33 they write their own schedules, do. Or follow templates. Some never work Saturdays or nights. They are coaches to their kids teams and gone before 5 most days. Do not call me because I acknowledge the truth. There are many other managers who would like to just see their kids play a game. I’m single and have worked every Saturday except ones requested for vacation.

My CM works 6 and 7 days a week sometimes. The stress they are under is really not worth the pay. You are probably one of those that gets a runny nose and thinks its ok to not come to work . STFU and worry about you. Or at least go back to your corner with a work for food sign trying to get something for doing nothing.

Well... not sure if your cm thinks he is better than you, not sure that your concern really keeps him up at night. But I will say probably a lot of people are better than you right now. Feel better? Just curious!

When have you held the title club manager or general manager to be worried what they’re doing? Can you do it better? Odds are you’re no where near being a club manager one day if these are the things that keep you up at night.

Why would this be of concern? They typically work more hours than required. Typically come in at odd hours. Are you there to see when they’re popping in to check on things? Are you there to see when they take calls at all hours of the night from the club or market managers? Best to mind your business. Odds are you’re getting a pay check to do a job and it does include not being concerned with what the cm is doing or not doing.

Shut up and get back to work. Mind your own business. When run a club with 120-150 employees and 6 managers under you. Then you can complain
