Pouring cash into 5G

I only wish that Hans showed as much enthusiasm for growing the existing businesses (the ones bringing in billions and billions of revenue) as he does for pouring cash into some nebulous FIVE GYEE enterprise with an ambiguous date and quantity of return. He doesn't strike me as having the same respect for running an ultra-reliable and critical piece of US infrastructure like his predecessors had. I have some real fear and concern for his ability to operate a major telco that is 10x the size of the company he was ousted from. :(

"Now that the industry is entering a new phase, driven by 5G, IoT [internet of things] and Cloud, it's time for a new CEO to step in and continue the work of securing Ericsson's lead in the industry," comments Hans Vestberg in the press statement.

And now he is leading the charge for these very same things in VZ. He couldn't hack it then, he won't be able to do anything now.

I believe that Hans is right, 5Yee is the future, of course it will cost Verizon another 44,000 jobs and other cost cutting efforts to get there, look for Verizon to merge with another major player within the next twelve months.

The lack of 5Gyee infrastructure is something that's definitely not being looked at.
