Is the CEO intent on restoring GE as a global leader in respective business lines and running it for long haul? Or, is he intent on maximizing shareholder value in near term by abolishing the conglomerate?

Aviation survives because of the number and price of the contracts. It suffers from the same defective culture that is GE. The skeletons just haven't come out yet.

The writer lays out his assumptions and logic clearly. It's a well reasoned but simple analysis which you can build on.

I think he over values GEP but even setting the value of GEP to zero results in a price per stock of ~$15.

The bigger question is, is aviation really worth the price he calculates?
