The moves that will be made after the Aetna merger is complete

Stumbled upon this article online and found it to be a good read, as it outlines all the possible moves that are planned to be made by the CVS leadership after the completion of the Aetna acquisition. It seems that the general plans of the leadership are to cut costs and make the company more efficient. Although no one is mentioning any cuts in the worker headcount and the leadership are talking about cutting medical costs, this worries me a little. If any of their plans to cut medical costs proves to be impossible to do, we all know what’s the easiest way for a company to cut costs.

This merger would be so much easier to deal with if you could have any confidence in the ability of CVS to recognize talent...unfortunately they do not have a clue!

This is true on the Aetna side as well. Everyone is on edge and the morale is at an ultimate low. Viscous environment turning people against one another. Maybe a tactic to make people so miserable they quit to avoid severance packages? Correction from auto correct in previous post.

In the same sentence he mentions cutting medical costs, he also mentions cutting corporate expenses and integrating CVS and Aetna. The #1 corporate expense is LABOR and integrating CVS and Aetna means eliminating redundancy. The entire article is information without giving you any specific information. It is the usual CVS double speak. I read the conference call...it is all staged BS. The “ Health Hub” is not going to be interested in selling Bounty or Pepsi, CVS is going to morph into something you will not recognize and most of you will not be needed when it does. Keep your eyes open for your next move...one thing is certain they will appreciate you better than this company ever did.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

Everyone is anxious.

That's the only thing certain here.
