Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Points System going away?

So with the news that the points system is going to go away and the way they treat us being so horrible we should plan that on 11/17/18 to all call in. A walkout to show that we are so fed up with the direction of the company as a whole. We continue to see poor choices from the higher level leadership that aren't resulting in a better place to work or conduct business. So instead of walking out and finding another job lets slap these "leaders" who are running the company into the group in the face and take a day off next week and do it as a united force.

A few years back we hear a significant number of employees walked out or quit back east in one office ... I think it was 12 or 17 in Charlottesville and the day moved on, people and work was shifted and nothing changed... not to be defeatist. The walkout would have to be in the thousands with press coverage like Google employees did recently but I still don’t think things would change because their agenda has been to get rid of people ASAP which brings down pension and benefits costs significantly. Perhaps someday someone on the inside of this mess with memos and emails will write a tellall book. Good luck to all to get out with your health and kindness and character intact.

PS point system and matrix and micromanagement very dehumanizing tactic to break you down and out the door

I have to wonder if the point system is on hold or going away due to pending law suits.

There has been no news of the point system going away in Customer Care here in the Phx hub. Maybe the hubs are excluded.

I heard Tiperoo had a massive heart attack several months ago and is recovering at an undisclosed, highly fortified under ground bunker. The bunker is known as "the lair".

A temp named Marvin was hired to replace Tiperoo until he can resume his duties or his PTO runs out - whichever comes first. That's what I heard anyway...

See how they refer to you as minions? They're other buzz word is "claim scum.". Just be aware of what they think of you. They have lost their "shared values!"

@2zrx

"I'm sticking around for the long haul."

"Either get with it, stay with it, or hit the road."

Sorry, don't believe you. Either you are:

1) MT minion

2) person posting to generate ad revenue

3) lying in some other fashion (see also #1 & #2)

If you were so happy and in it for the 'long haul', doubtful your naivete would be affected by a site such as this. Further, no one with the company for a measly 5 years would say would say "Either get with it, stay with it, or hit the road.". All that wisdom in those 5 years..good luck to you!

Well, I'm reaching my 5th year with State Farm and although there have been and will continue to be significant changes, I'm sticking around for the long haul. With each company there is change. Either get with it, stay with it, or hit the road.

@W37Cs2R-2rgd I looked at my paycheck from Friday and show me the line item that takes money from my pay for executive bonuses.

Better to give to a unionthan heartless executive bonuses

@W37Cs2R-1kad is there a gun to your head? Leave if you don't like it. All a union does is take your money and make you are "subservient" to a different master.

Then continue to live in your subservience.

Keep your union. I would rather burn my money than pay union dues.

Unionize so you can strike anytime you want! They've made it a union job anyway. The industrial revolution brought on poor working conditions. Technology sure isn't any different.

it probably won't happen, but a one day walk-out would get managements attention.

Actually, a union organizational drive would be even better and it is legal and management has to allow it if requested!

11/17/18 is a Saturday..so....just how busy are we on a Saturday anyway?

On YouTube is a segment titled “The future of insurance” where it discusses Property and casualty companies in the future. It goes on to say that they (P&C) companies will have to cut their workforce by 40% in 10 years to stay competitive. That they’ll hire back 20% in IT positions. It also discusses life mgt technologies to assist w insurance premiums. I’m afraid these layoffs will continue for these P&C companies to stay competitive and gain market share. I would love to see a walkout and watch the incompetent managers, w no knowledge or leadership ability, try to respond to that. That sure would give us a break from their(mgt) social media selfies they post over and over again.

The new world is nothing more than a way to thin the herd. Sad but true. SF no longer cares about a tenured and highly-paid workforce. Make no mistake, they want you to quit. Evaluate your personal situation, stay as long as you need to, take care of personal things such as debt and save and jump ship the moment you get a chance. I think they will only become more and more ruthless on employees and try to get anyone they can out of adherence so they can fire them. Make no mistake, when they fire you they don’t pay you unemployment which can be crushing depending on your personal situation. They don’t deserve your loyalty and you don’t need them. Plenty of other companies with amazing benefits and opportunities and zero micromanagement.
