Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

SF thought for the day re Ask the CEO...

I wanted to pose these questions to M.T. via the "Ask the CEO" page, but knew I'd be fired if I had.

I have ZERO doubt one of the many MT minions patrol this board, so, (via VPN proxy server because no way do I trust that there wouldn't be repercussions), here are my questions, not that I expect legitimate answers.

We crawled into bed with Accenture on Fire Migration. It took us nearly 2 years and 10's of millions of dollars to realize what they were selling us was the equivalent of the emperor's new clothes. Who is going to take responsibility for that failure?

We tried migration via our own methodologies and that didn't work, so we go back to handling claims the way we used to in Fire Co (but we still claim we aren't). Who is going to take responsibility for that failure?

We have now eliminated approx 35% of our Fire Co claims force yet we have replaced approx 30% of our employees with independents. Who is going to take responsibility for that failure?

We have relocated hundreds of claim personnel to hub citys at a cost of $50-$80K per person just so they can do the EXACT same job from an office as they have done from their home. Why? Who is going to take responsibility for the millions of dollars spent on that fiasco?

Why not just come out and admit that the transition was an ill-advised downsizing and the only requirement to keep your (a) job was to be mobile?

We are losing policies and customers at a record pace. Who is going to take responsibility for that failure?

When is MT and his ilk going to realize we are a service based company not a manufacturing firm and Lean/Six Sigma principles don't really work with a service based company (as witnessed by our customer service ratings)?

Just like PSP and all the other failed fiascos at SF. When are the people that promote, support and force upon us, these failed ideas and processes (only to try and make a name for themselves for the next promotion) going to be held responsible for their failures?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Just my two cents...

Former 18 year employee here deciding to check-in and check-up 9 months after leaving for another company...(which I highly recommend for current employees if feasible/possible...I’m finally off my antidepressants...true story...) I wish there was a way to make your post go viral, outskirting the damn “Intranet”. Spot on, sir or madam. Well spoken, and I see nothing has changed since my departure....except that things are smelling worse on the Farm. I didn’t realize SF’s reputation was so bad until I left...to the point I now cringe or lie when asked where I previously worked...The truth always comes out, and SF’s manure is busting at the seams...If there was only a way for your post to hit mainstream...

You are a genius but don’t count on your questions ever being answered.

I do not know who will take responsibility, but I do know who should: Ed Rust.

Bravo! clap, clap. Yes you’d be reprimanded in a New York minute if not fired. I hear it’s really bad in claims now, auto and fire. No one wants to stick around after working in that environment. I’m a former employee and have had some contact with old coworkers and they progressively tell me it keeps getting worse and worse.
