EOY 2018 layoffs

I work for AT&T in TechDev (IT) and just got a call from my boss this morning (11/6/2018) who is a VP. He's very distressed, he had a meeting with his boss yesterday and was informed of huge job cuts before EOY. I couldn't get the percentages out of him, but he said this was nothing like the last round this past summer, these are going to be deep. The last round was 7% I believe, and this time it's not just call centers and customer service reps, these are developers/data scientists/engineers/directors/attorneys/etc. and are going to be cut all across the company.

A big shout out to Randall and the boys on the board for borrowing the company into record balance sheet distress while enriching themselves with buybacks and dividends.

As a Business owner I don’t see a benefit in having employees. That’s most id--tic statement I’ve ever heard! Employees are the lifeblood of your company you id--t!! Do you really think contractors are going to give a flying F..k about your company? You must work and Randall’s office.

I don’t see it happening by eoy. First quarter 19 I believe it will be deep. Not sure why they don’t get rid of the dead wood who don’t have a job. How do they hide? And contractors? Why aren’t they first to go?
