Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

To Date I Heard No One Say Thank You...

Is no one grateful for what they have? I for one am grateful for the time spent at VZ "albeit short" and the experience i've gained, I am grateful for tuition assistance which allowed me to complete my degree, and several certs. I am grateful for the years of better than average pay - which allowed me to pad my 401k very well. Im also grateful for the 6% matching contribution to my 401k. I am thankful i've been able to take care of my family & put my kids through college & buy them cars.

I am thankful for the excellent medical & dental they provide at little to no out of pocket expense to me which covered the birth of my grandson.

I appreciate all these things that i've been able to do because I worked at VZ, so when it's time for us to part ways I will harbor no i'll will or bear grudges, I will wish the company well on it's new journey as I begin mine. I don't care job you do/did, I guarantee you didn't work hard enough to earn the amount of your total compensation package "not just your salary" - I will be totally honest, I for one can say that VZ has given me far more than I have given them - I gave them 40 plus hrs a week, in return they've given me a generous salary & the skills to land a better job when I leave.

All i'm really saying is be grateful for what you have/had because it's many people in this country who work for half of what you are making.....

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement, if you read the post thoroughly you would have noticed I said "I hear people talk about that all the time, if your "and I don't mean you specifically" mad/upset/envious of the salary they make go back to school," - so I wasn't referring to you directly, this was a general statement. Im not a mole nor a plant as you have stated, Im a person who chooses to look at the positive instead of dwelling on the negative "which is counter productive"

Lastly you obviously have very little self confidence or belief in yourself if you think you can't move up the ladder at VZ "or maybe you just lazy and like making excuses". VZ is not the only company on the planet and if it don't/can't happen here, go somewhere else.... you sound pathetic making excuses why you think you can't advance in the company "have you even tried?" or is this just your narrow "worker ant" opinion derived from a slackers mentality. So dry your eyes put on you big girl panties and make it happen..... or don't and continue to sit here and cry about it. I realize the truth is hard to swallow but if you have a hard time taking it down, ask your mother - I hear she's a pro!

Best Regards!

I was always surprised during corporate layoffs at the number of people who were thankful to have their lives disrupted and get thrown into the job market, not.

The problem is the greed and arrogance to even think someone suppose to say thank you. People left there families for 10 plus hours every holidays Vzw was open. And you want folks to thank them f--- them. Tell the top executives from taking there millions and leaving months before hand.

Listen here @kyq, fool, troll, corpoate plant, whoever you are posing as today. I’m not “mad, upset, envious “ as you claim, but nor am I blind.

This working your way up the “latter”[sic], as you say, is a bunch of horse sh-- and you know it. Thete’s no more moving up the ladder. Management’s frozen pensions and mediocre medical coverage made damn sure few ever wanted to take the tie again.

The folks raping, I meant, reaping the greatest rewards and the golden parachutes are, by and large, not long timers here, but interlopers who came here late to the game, will take more in one year than I will have earned over a lifetime’s toiling, and will leave with an obscene package, a package funded by my financial demise, a wealth transfer of the trickle-up variety.

So, spin your spin, but don’t peddle your b---s--- here and, worse yet, buy into it yourself Baghdad Bob.

Not trolling, just saying be grateful for what you have. Everyone is talking about what they're losing/will lose, what about what you have... all the things you are/were able to do. Yes it's true their are people who make alot more than I do "good for them" im sure they worked hard to get their. Everyone had the opportunity to go to school for business, finance, marketing etc and move up the latter in this company to the C level. Im not mad at exec's for what they get paid, if the company thinks their worth it that their choice and their money - I hear people talk about that all the time, if your "and I don't mean you specifically" mad/upset/envious of the salary they make go back to school, get an advanced degree and work your way up the latter to get their. Stop worrying about what other people are doing & what they are making and worry about yourself - all this negative energy could be put to better use.

Lastly, the company owes no one anything when we chose to work for VZ it was a contract that we both agreed upon and at anytime employees have/could walk away and end the contract just as the company can. The world don't stop spinning because VZ is laying people off "atleast mine dont" this aint the only company in the world "if it was I would understand the complaints" Nobody & especially no company will determine my fate or dictate my life, it's just a job... you'll find another one and life will continue....

Executives started posting the comments to cover them up. Remember employees from the bottom were the reason for their millions of dollars bonuses. You should thank the employees and feel sorry for what you are doing. Remember that you will be more unfortunate one day with more difficult timings than us and no one can save for the robbery that you are doing to the employees. Your family dont even stand with you if they know what you are doing. Everyone will abandon you.

I think you’re trolling but, as long as you’re chumming the waters, I’ll bite. I could just as effectively argue, “ be ungrateful for what you have/had because it's many people in this country who do half the work for 100, 200, 300x what you are making.....”

Thank you for f---ing what. Not one person work for free so they don’t owe them sh--. Did Lowell thank the employees for giving himself 20 million dollars bonus. Then layoff 100,000 employees in three years.
