Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AppNexus CEO is stepping down, but all of their employees are coming to Xnadr

An article on the step-down of AppNexus’s CEO is not something I would ordinarily post on this board, but another thing caught my eye in the article and got me thinking. The article states that there is insider information that, in light of the acquisition, AT&T struck a deal with AppNexus that none of their workers will be laid off after the merge. If that is the case, it means that more than 1000 workers are coming to Xnadr and are there to stay. Don’t want to invoke bad things to come, but if the AppNexus workers have a promised status, who do you think is going to grab the shorter stick when at some point the management finds the headcount in Xandr is too big?

The DTV acquisition has a 2 year no-layoff window, as soon as it expired ex-DTV bodies went into the grinder just like everybody else.

Usually a deal like that has an expiration date. I believe the Time Warner acquisition has an arrangement that expires Feb 2019.

Something tells me that whatever agreement there was, it will fall short of a guarantee of a job for life.

Once acquisition is complete, they will go into the quarterly layoff rotation.

Do you believe Randall will keep a promise/guarantee, that warranty expired when they merge. Just like a schlocky used car salesman. They will be assigned a number and enter the layoff pool.
