Future of EUS

Any word on the future of EUS Technicians? Will we be outsourced or just have 40 stores each as they reduce headcount?

Sounds good in theory 3ouv but that is not the daily reality, maybe someday. For now and the immediate future it’s an endless avalanche of incidents and tasks that require an actual human being to respond.

I really feel not only for the techs left behind, but also the people who won’t get the help they need and will be relegated to “self heal” their pc and mobility concerns.

I agree they dearly would love to go in the direction you lay out.

EUS is already dead.... Helpdesk is gone, AYS self service replaces 90% of your tickets, DAAS will remove the need for you to handle NS, Thin clients don’t need EUS, Tech Stop employees will be outsourced.

You need to upskill and get a job in a different part of IT or leave IT, it isn’t just dead at VZ.

The future of EUS (ie how to eliminate your job)

-Thin clients in stores

-Mobile Iron to admin Ipads

-Tech stops

-AYS automation

-Further efficiencies, AI, Bots, image etc

EUS a big money drain mobile workforce many require vehicles, tolls, parking. If you have over 15 years may be a good time to head for the hills. Those left behind will likely be rif or outsourced, Just take a look what has happened to EUS in the last 24 months after 15 years of stability. Look for techs to have 40+ locations each. Is it worth the stress? Not many companies doling out 6 figure paydays to GTFO
