If everyone’s starting pay is at $15 nobody is stuck at and job climbing up to $15 for years! I think it’s the other way around! Power for the people! I mean doing think it’s good and fair trade at $7,25 when cost of living for 10 years have gone up and not wages?
These are mostly distribution type jobs. 15$ an hour is less than most distribution centers pay, certainly isn't newsworthy. Smart of Bezos to pressure Walmart into overpaying cashiers and cart pushers tho.
Do you understand what the $15 minimum wage really means? It means Amazon no longer cares whether an employee comes or goes. They have created a disposable workforce. Amazon had retention incentives at the lower salary. Now, at $15, as my daughter says, you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit. From Bezos’ perspective, this was a brilliant move.
