What does the future look like for call center workers?
Don't see much on these boards about the reps in the call centers. I know the push is HBA. But will reps taking calls on the wireless side get a severance offer?

Outsource call centers.
Wish they would hurry up and close my center. Soul s---ing place.
It's only a matter of time before HBA becomes IBA. Verizon is going to convert all the centers HBA. It's only a matter of time. Then once all the centers are closed and converted to HBA they will outsource to India. Think about it. It's alot more difficult to outsource entire centers ( thousands of people) to India rather then let people go on an individual basis. No bad press. It will happen. Question is when? 6 months? One year?
HBA was setup in Irving TX, no VZ call center foundation is required. Trainers, space and equipment is all that's needed. Free yourself from location based assumptions.
The centers that have closed, employees of HBA can work of course outside 90 minutes of a call center but those call centers that are staying open HBA are required to still live within limits of 90 minutes to an hour drive time and they continue to hire off the streets for more HBA employees. Why are employees at those open centers required to still live within 90 minutes??? When is this going to change across the board, that you can live anywhere as long as you have high speed internet.
They are starting to hire for customer service in my center, but our tech support group has shrunken dramatically. I’m wondering if they’ll close us this year
I'm going to assume if you haven't received notification of any voluntary lay off offers by now, that it doesn't apply. Most (or all) received notification 09/24 of the opportunity.
