Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

Hoping you get laid off! (An Encouraging message)

All,

As an ex TR employee, I have been through what you are going through. I want to encourage you. It was horrible to get laid off, but now i am glad. TR FR is a sinking ship, full of with mismanagement, in a low growth space. I ended up way better off, and you will too!

You should not be so worried about the future. This c-appy company (and there is blame to around) put you in this position.

The chances are you will end up in a more stable place, where you are more valued, better paid, and happier. It might take a few months, but stop worrying. I have been there, and it certainty happened to me. I work at a company where we are not treated like an expense and where there is growth. I did change jobs a few times after TR, but i am happier better paid, learning more, etc. Leaving TR (getting laid off) was really good in retrospect.

My advice is- if you get a package, take that generous money and leave happily. Look at it as a gift- being paid to leave the titanic. Think about the stress you will be leaving (the uncertainty), not the uncertainty of leaving c-appy TR.

And do not, under any circumstance grt depressed about it.

My next post is going to be on what you need to do, attitude wise, for you your next job. TR is purgatory- where you get hired wont be, and you cant bring the same attitude.

Until then atay positive, and hope for a package. It will be worth it!

I do not know what you guys are talking about, Thomson Reuters is one of the best companies in the world to work for there is a TRUST environment and people are really happy to come to work, there is so much energy. I personally joined straight out of colleague and they took care of me, trained me, paid for my tuition, helped me find a wife (it is the answer company after all) and I could not be thankful. STOP BEING NEGATIVE! seriously you could not have worked at a better company TR really cares for its employees...said no one ever

I cannot wait for my exit package overtime the HR dude walks by i look him straight in the eye and I joke about him coming to get me (he says no, my heart sinks!) anyways October 2 or 8 or whatever the rumor is I am waiting and I will go on a well deserved holiday after it because I have done nothing but have coffee in the morning everyday for the last 5 years

TR are in a bad state, so anyone who is kicked out in this latest huge round of redundancies is lucky. TR treat their employees like dirt, and have the nerve to include "Trust" as one of their values. There are some good aspects of TR, but even slaves were given some creature comforts. As someone has commented above - being made redundant from TR at this point is like being rescued from the Titanic and given a big fat check for the privilege. Once TR realise this latest reorg and downsizing is a mistake, it will be too late and the company will sink. I've had some good times at TR, but I will be really really glad to get out.

I disagee with the negative vibes. I too ex TR employee during the boooom times of New Labour n auseity under Tories. They was some off the appiesty times however the most productivey I ever saw was at the tea point n lifts. Try getting a work respons n half the world on ze jibber ap or anual leave..however yous see how quick some helps you change the milk despenser like linford chrissie at barca92 .total bafflin n had to change.

Be positive for refinitiv...a change is as good as a rest and can imagine new owners are two in a bush. Wish yous well in the next world.

15 years ago I join the company and receive many perks stuff and feel to good to be true after Wenig left the company and create fancy stuff call Eikon thing never been the same I got the PG. Once I get out to the IT market I don't know sh-- except TR component and bureaucrat I feel worthless. After couple of bump ride and darktime I self-thought my self too do a code and see the light at the end of the tunnel. You guys will have another path but soon you be free and prosper

Congratualatoin You guys will eject from the zombie environment and will be free as formal TR I certainly sure you be better off. Just make sure that f---ing stone don't try to cheat you
