Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Claims handlers refusing to give out manager info/transfer calls to managers?????

I work at a different insurance company. In the past if we had issues with a State Farm claim handler not responding to multiples calls or emails (or if they just plain didn't know how to do their job) we could request a transfer to a manager right away (one time we were told there was even a manager line in the State Farm claims phone directory)

Well for the last 6 months or so adjuster straight up refuse to ever let a call go to a manager. Doesn't matter if the adjuster has ignored 10 calls and voicemails. What the heck happened?

I personnally would still send to them as this is their job. They are just trying to pass the buck to the CR. What are they going to do fire you? I think not as they need you as the bleeding continues as employees keep leaving.

Thankful I left. 25 year employee writing this.

Our managers don't want to take the call, so we are instructed not to escalate any calls to them.

The reason you want to talk to us is for your benefit, not ours. Pound sand.

What has happened is that claim specialists have huge inventories and cant keep up with the work. They have to prioritize their work and other insurance inquiries are not a priority and most managers have instructed employees not to transfer the calls to them. They dont care if you are not happy. They want results.results, results. get the work done “We don’t care how or what you have ti do”. sorry

Working in the field I get contractors asking to speak to managers all the time, the answer is always no. They will tell you the same thing I am telling you and contractually we have no obligation to tell you anything (the contractor that is). If a policy holder would like to speak to a manager then I would be glad to relay the message.

Same thing with another insurance company, kick rocks. If you want to point fingers that the claim handler doesn't do their job I infer that you feel confident that you know how to do your job so you know there is ways to get around whatever situation it may be that SF is not calling you back.

Worry about your company and not ours.

I think what you should do is start running your business more like State Farm. Step one should be s---ing as hard as possible. Take this literally or figuratively; it's all the same. Step two should be evaluating how hard you were able to s---, and then practice s---ing until you're able to increase the suction force threefold.

Repeat ad nauseum.

Most of the responses in this thread have this technique down pat. Hopefully we'll get some more s----hard responses so you can see how it's done.

Why are you thinking the manager can help you? Dont like the liability decision, file arb. Want to know the limits call your insured's attorney. I rarely call back other adjusters unless we are working together. You are not making brownie points with anyone. Handle the darn claim! If you have a lien send your proofs etc. We do not have time to waste on you. Investigate your claim accordingly! Off my soap box for now!

Managers don't handle claims, that's what happened.

Managers refuse to speak to arrogant personnel from other insurance companies.
