Sedgwick s---s....going through it right now....they say doctor never responded, doctor has the fax confirmation that was sent prior to the due date...hear this same story over and over again from other techs....
@wbn Verizon lost a 48.9 million dollar maternity suit. Hr was afraid and did the right thing.
Proving Sedgwick wasn't following protocol .
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said Monday that Verizon Communications Inc. will pay $48.9 million as part of a previously announced settlement of a lawsuit over alleged discrimination against employees who were pregnant or on maternity leave by its predecessor companies Nynex and Bell Atlantic.
In a press release, the EEOC said that it submitted a final report to U.S. District Judge Denny Chin in Manhattan on Monday that indicated the total compensation paid so far under the settlement was $25.3 million. The EEOC said it also expects an additional $23.6 million will be paid in future pension benefits under the terms of the settlement.

I had no problems with them but im not an abuser.
They will not be helpful, no matter what you do.
It's frustrating to deal with them...
Didn't want the to approve my leave FOR HAVING A BABY! Dr ordered bedrest wasn't approved by them and they said they wouldn't approve me after I had the baby (this is after their appeals process and one of their "physicians" looked over ALL OF MY MEDICAL PAPERWORK. HR got involved and got them to approve after delivering but I'm still out 2 months of pay from bed rest. Completely useless!
You have to initiate your claim with HR or call 855 489-2367. They’ll get you started with a claim and then you can work directly with Sedgwick at 800 826-1923. I had a great experience with them. MetLife messed up my paycheck several times, horrible customer service. For me dealing with Sedgwick was much easier. No issues.
They are not worker friendly. Frustrate workers and their doctors. Get a good attorney and let them deal with Sedgwick Claims services. If your union get them involved. Good Luck!
File your paperwork on time and you shouldn’t have problems.
Bad experiences....they don’t return calls often, never could get a person...always had to leave voicemail. They are very slow to schedule anything. I had to threaten them with a lawsuit for failure to provide adequate and timely medical treatment to force them to schedule an appointment with a company doctor.
