Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

On LE

LE was a pre-boomer software lord. Held on to a mindboggling % of his company over 41 years.

Most subsequent founders got WAY diluted. Maybe not a swell guy but a force. And a real taste for art, not just spike heels. Legacy just slip sliding away. Sad.

He was legend but in 10 years memory of him will be gone with the wind if O tanks. All the diversification into real estate, undone museums, and underfunded medical research will not change that.

How many remember DEC...its epitaph that haunted alumni was "nobody there had any real business sense."

Does not have to be that way. Just pay attention...

Oracle is dead company stumbling into its grave. Still generating cash flow but dead, no future whatsoever. Get out whether employee or shareholder, nothing to hang on for here, no future, nothing good will happen here. Just a question of how fast it disappears of the face of the earth. Dust to dust. Bye LE!

"nobody there had any real business sense."

Same could be said for Sun Micro, which was losing Millions Per DAY before Larry bought them out. That Oracle spent over 7 Billion to buy Sun tells you all you need to know about Larry's business sense.

That's how things work. Companies get born, and then they die... I think there is about 10 companies in Fortune 500 that are older than 100 years. Think about it...
