Severance for associates that only get 15 days to decide

I am one of the associates that works in receiving that is looking at taking the severance instead of applying for another job. Because I'm under 40, I only get 15 days to decide. All of us in the back are taking severance (have fun GM!). Does anyone know if I have to have my last day by the 15 days being up? My GM is trying to get me to give a 2 weeks notice which takes me past the date of separation. No one in my club knows the answer and I don't trust my GM. If there's a number anyone knows to call to get the answer from corporate that'd be great.

Thanks.

No! On that 15th day you’re supposed to be taken out of the system. That’s what they did with my audit lead on her last day. What he’s doing is c-ap and defeats the purpose of the 15 day notice to decide. I would call the ethics hotline to be sure.

Do not give a 2 week notice. Go on the wire search Severance there is a form you will have to complete 2 week prior to 12/7. There is also a phone number

I could be wrong on my comment a minute ago. Read the post below this one. There was a conference call, and you decide on a last day and leave then. But either way, you do not work past December 7th. Call HO to get answers if needed.

If you are going to be a displaced receiving/claims associate you will be terminated on December 7th if you dont get another position with in a club. The 15 day period refers to how long you have to sign and return your paperwork for severance. So in other words you have 15 days from 12/7/18 to submit the above packet. Failure to do that within the 15 days could cause you to lose severance or the company assumes you don't want it. So basically be sure to return signed packet by 12/22/28. Also you dont give notice. GMs have info on how all this should be handled. They are to request your severance packet a week ahead of your last day.

I believe your last day is December 7th. That is the last day you have to work. No 2 weeks needed. Your GM is just trying to keep help around for Christmas. She's an outright liar.
