I think everyone affected and their family and friends and community all need to go to Corporate and protest. That’s where the decision was made and that’s what will get noticed and get us news coverage. Instead of always cutting at the store level why don’t they cut the company jet or the million dollar executive salaries and lavish meals they pay for them. Why is it always ya who suffers.

Everyone is mad... Yes it was a sh–ty company to work for.. we stayed cause of the associates, we got use to the workload, we were comfortable. F— I should of left the first time I thought about leaving I wouldn’t be in this situation... but they could of been more professional about it and gave us the respect of telling us face to face

I think Big Lots is watching this thread. I wonder how many of us let go we’re in a “protected class” you know that’s a good and easy lawsuit.
We need to flood all their Facebook posts with comments. We need to tag them in hashtags. Make them go viral

The explanation they gave on the conference calls on who got cut was based on store volume and that all ATLS were being cut. But we know that’s not true.
In my district, all the ATL’s that we’re paid very well wet cut. How about you all? Newly promoted assistants even in low volume stores got to stay. All the ppl been there 10 years or more got canned. The ones making the higher salary

I know all you guys and females are smart don’t let this company take your voice from you , let’s tell the people how they treated us so they can make an opinion if they want to keep shopping at the best store that treats associates like family, did you guys forget what’s in the break room ????? They have a poster say that we are all family can someone take a picture of that and post it on face book ??? This would really embarrass Biglots

We need to post it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & LinkedIn. Make it as public as possible. Big Lots is not expecting any of us to fight back. They need to be exposed. All their cuts do not make sense. Not every store in my district was affected. But it was across the board the ATLS position that was eliminated. In other markets they got rid of the ATLM. Some even the STL. No consistency. And their explanations on how they selected the stores affected are all lies. Said it was based on “volume” and “truck size” but the highest 4 volume stores in our district with the biggest freight shipments got cut. It’s all lies. They will never tell the truth. So it needs exposed. They are all cowards.

Both our assistant managers work 45 hrs every week our atlm wasnt good at her job our dts lead done her job for her i think our store manager had to make a decision of which one to save and he choose the atls to move to merch lead to save his job and let her take a demotion or severence pay

Why take the merchandising manager out of their position to begin with.. We never get OT In Cali if we did you had to have a good reason why

Wow they are something else, the whole company is nothing but lies , they need money so they had to eliminate the merchandise positions I was making $25 as the merchandise manager

Conference call today was a joke. Telling the one left behind that the elimination of the ATLS position was to better serve Jennifer lol
And those 7 hours they’re losing each week will be distributed through the store. What a bunch of lies.

I'm not sure if class action is possible but I will tell you if you already signed a severance you signed away that right.
But I am pretty sure they violated the peoples rights who were forced to sign before they left. That is illegal and those people may want to contact a personal attorney if they can afford it. My spouse was able to take his paperwork out and he has 44 days left to sign to be eligible.

I am pt there still. My spouse lost his STL position. I contacted probably all the Columbus News places yesterday even sent an email providing the goodbye wish them well email. Biglots is in trouble to be making foolish moves. They're raising prices on garbage no one wants...cutting hours to where there wasnt enough to begin with. The good side of this whole mess...yes there is....is that while you all are looking now and will be settled in new jobs soon....the people left behind ....will get closed doors in their faces in a few years. I said 3 years ago within 5 years they will shut down. It's getting closer. If they think furniture will save their a$$....wrong.....its trash. They put too much money out on fancy signs and backers...opening new stores that btw resemble Walmart....new equipment that was outdated before they got it...and jacking up prices in cheap sh– from China. Look on Ebay for some of the exact products. Hell...the painted c-ap even comes in with paint stuck to the boxes. Right now as you all struggle to survive...like our family ....believe me when I say you ALL DESERVE BETTER. GO FIND IT!!! Biglots is truly the bottom of the barrel and has been for at least 8 years.
