I know a U.S. Bank employee with 15 years with the bank that was laid off in 2016. It took her over a year to find a new job. If not prepared, even with a severance package, layoffs can cause depression, bankruptcy, foreclosure, divorce & even s---c-de. Remember to have a strong network & a 6 month emergency fund for unfortunate life events lile this.

Thanks for the warning. I don't work for US Bank but I'm making my backup plan & was thinking 6 months for new job... guess economy ain't so hot after all
