Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

While the leadership makes millions, the rest are shown the door

Therein lies the problem. Enbridge pretends to be better than everyone else in the industry with all its talk about safety, integrity and respect. But through its actions over the last few years it’s proven to be just like most of the other slow-witted O&G companies out there. As long as the top people make off with their millions, the rest (including the unlliked VPs) are coldly shown the door, compounding the prevailing misery. This current ELT doesn’t seem to include a single person who is capable of a deep thought. All I hear is superficial nonsense uttered to make them look good. But why should they care? Most of them (AM for certain) will be gone in under two years.

The unrestricted willingness to spend, the overly generous treatment of staff and the blind acceptance of endless growth created the current situation. Now the bean counters reign supreme because the company is in an existential crisis.

Safety, integrity and respect are not violated during layoffs by default. The question is, how are people treated on the way out?

It is not Enbridge’s responsibility to preserve the ecosystem in which your position exists. You bear responsibility for ensuring you remain valuable to the company should circumstances change. And in my experience (my reports) the company is willing to invest if you’ve proven yourself adaptable.

Change is not disrespectful.

You are the problem - you and the others here who continually whine about your host. You can’t find work because you s---, you have no skills because you s---, you s--- the life out of companies like Enbridge, you are a parasite! Enbridge is getting rid of parasites like you and they are the bad guys? Go back to 98 when you’re dated skills were actually applicable. Skillless leach, get a clue - there are no jobs for people who haven’t updated thier skills since 98.

Yeah, I’d love to know more about what happened with MAADs behind the scenes. The original filing seemed totally unreasonable and I wonder if “big Enbridge” (aka corporate) insisted on it, or if the utility people involved actually thought the Board would go for it.

Enbridge stock and credit rating now one level about junk status. No wonder the Ontario Energy Board asked for Enbridge Inc's credit rating reports. They took a good hard look at them which is why the MADDs application granted them a 5 year instead of 10 year period and a 50-50 split with shareholders. Greedy Enbridge would have used the savings in the first five years of the 10 year framework to enrich shareholders and the OEB knew it. Now Enbridge can lay off more employees and put bigger projects on hold.

I cannot believe how they boast integrity and respect when there is none. The propaganda out of this company is un friggin believable !!

I hate Enbridge so badly, but right now cannot find other work.

Take me back in time to 1998 when company and executive words were sincere and employees were dedicated.

I think it would be better if it was like Enron. Slow motion is so painful. But they do have everyone on the outside fooled just like Enron.

I agree. The ELT are not really leaders but administrators. Bean counters with no vision, imagination or leadership. Their big ideas are to cut staff, divest, and reorganize the corporate structure. How original. Ironically, their sole focus has been on stock price and the stock has never performed more poorly.
