Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PepsiCo will use 25 more recycled materials in its packaging

I’m maybe a little of topic but wanted to post this article because I think that these green initiatives are something that needed to be done. Aside from the effort to be a more environment- friendly company, we also see that all of our competitors are making similar efforts. We all know how much criticism this industry receives, and if we didn't start participating now in projects like this there is a strong possibility that we would end up getting all of the bad publicity, while our peers would be labeled as companies that make efforts in this segment.

Coca Cola has been doing this for years. PepsiCo is way behind.

I'm glad PEP is that concerned over the environment. I am. But imagine the quality of their products if they cared equally about their employees morale, dedication, level of interest and input in their efforts. I came to PEP at a time when their reputation as a wonderful workplace was well known. Now, for example, you're lucky to get an annual raise of any amount. We do have a new CEO and i'm hopeful that changes will be made. But at least I'm finding out it looks good on the resume.
