As many of my colleagues have been told by email and a brief surprise meeting of their layoff I know this is only a tip of the iceberg. The news love to share how many jobs we created this year but a majority being temporary placement and or service contractors, while we are cutting over 3400 just this year alone. We are netting a negative in new employees and most departments cannot fill their roles due to a constant hiring freeze. I work as an evening manager and have been with US Bank six years but have always wondered we send out emails saying we are making endless profits and earnings but yet we are laying off so many people all the time. Most of these layoffs go unnoticed as they phase out teams here and there but they couldn't sneak by this time. I can say forecasting for 2019 shows a repeat of this year so more layoffs to come and without any advanced notice.
