Things change. Sometimes you are in control of the change and sometimes you are not. In my opinion, working at the same place for 20 years is way too long..makes your skills stagnant and less competitive. Everyone should be proactively managing their career for when these things happen. I would imagine it would be hard starting over after that long of time...every 6 months one should be analyzing their career and seeing what new skills they have picked up that can transfer to different industries etc.
How is calling someone that just lost their career after 20 years a stupid anything appropriate? Usbank has been a wonderful company for many of us throughout the years and the loss of a career can be catastrophic, I was too laid off after 10 years and am struggling with my day to day. Hearing and seeing negativity like that makes me hurt for human kind. Be empathetic, be kind and if you want to mock someone that is down- just don’t. You must have a horrible life that you are so unhappy and want to throw stones at others..
As for 20 years- I am so sorry that you are going through this as well. It seems many layoffs were higher level managers and very loyal employees. While I don’t feel that Richard Davis would have done this like this, and I think there were better ways to eliminate positions while maintaining employees it hurts all the same. My prayers are with you and everyone else that was let go, and hope that this is just creating a path in your career that you hadn’t planned and leads you to a brighter future!
You sorry, stupid bast@td. 20 minutes or 20 years makes no difference. You were paid for every second you were here. No “loyalty” is expected.
Ahahahahah you thought they were gonna be loyal to you just like you were to them?!
