AT&T telling the Feds it was taking a hands-off approach to the Time-Warner acquisition was a lie. Stankey first had the nerve to call the new division unprofitable when it was, and then went to say this new project he was taking on (Time-Warner) wasn't going to take a handful of hours a month like all of his other projects, but a handful of hours per week, and then per day. That's a lot of time for a 'hands-off' approach.
AT&T have the most to lose in pay TV's shifting landscape, so it's probably no surprise that they have looked at acquisitions to bolster their businesses, unfortunately the dinosaurs are commanding Titanic oblivious to what is ahead, LoL
