Thread regarding CVS layoffs

More layoffs coming

So I don't have inside knowledge so I don't profess to have any special connections. I do know though with CVS putting in a travel freeze and freezing hiring, they did it much earlier than it is normally done each year which is near the end of November. Particular to this year, In some areas, management has you filling out your profiles, skill sets, and multiple self-assessment tools that were never done consistently in the past, at least in the areas I have worked. I just have a feeling with this and along with the Aetna merger being approved, we'll see so layoffs coming soon. Anyone else see similar signs?

I can say to the person who elaborated that this is business as usual, I really hope you are right. No one likes layoffs.

We have 3 peer postings and they were put on hold. A fellow person on an extended team also has 1 position on hold. We both found out recently.

Disagree, Everytime we buy a company or merge we have froze expenses so it does not affect the bottom line and tank the stock prices. Management knows what they are doing here they have successfully done this for 2 plus decades now without a misstep. Walgreens and Rite Aid have both failed in doing the same when doing this. Many districts freeze hiring in November and December due to training not being able to get done properly usually this is requested by the FCT also to use up vacation time and clean up training before the end of the year. AS for the profiles, again nothing new there. I think in this case you are seeing what you want to see. But big picture this is nothing unusual.

Wow, I work on the corporate side in one of the big 'hub' offices, but the fact that you can relate with this experience on that side of the business, all I can say is I hope I am wrong.

Exact way the district manager layoff occurred ! They will be looking for health care related skill set ! Example would be home health care nursing experience, getting a nursing degree or dental assistant certifications. These people will be enormous value to us going forward. You DL has signed a do not disclose agreement, they will be terminated if they share and even if they hint this is happening. AP is on the chopping block also.
