These are rumors that I'm hearing buzzing around from discussion with higher level employees. I'm hearing of potential upcoming layoffs for lower level finance employees in the Q4 2019 - Q2 2020 timeframe? The things that are circulating so far is that people are told there will be no plans for layoffs for finance employees for 6 months, and then if numbers aren't met there will be potential involuntary layoffs for these CoE finance locations since they have over hired. They will possibly have budgets cut in the future?
Many employees at these locations will be or have been asked to fill out and detail what they do everyday with the official reasoning being to better distribute work. Later on, I'm hearing that the reports will become more detailed with level of effort on their tasks being asked to be reported to see exactly if teams are needed, with a following reorganization and then potentially layoffs. As of right now internal promotions will still be occurring, but most outside hires will be hired in at the entry level. Higher paid employees are obviously the ones that will be targeted for layoffs later on, but lower level employees may be thrown into the mix as well. Any higher level employees with a history of HR complaints or not favored by their superiors as well as staff, should be very careful since further complaints or negative comments in 360 / skip level reviews will have you on the radar to be first up to be cut.
Has anyone else heard similar?
