The massive (like in 2017) layoffs are over. They don't want to pay severance! They will target individuals and make up reasons your performance is not good enough. It just happened to me in the HO. My numbers on their own new metric showed I was in the far upper of "Solid" . Not good enough. The youngsters they hired had numbers way below mine. Sometime they will figure out that a few thousand $ in pay savings and 10 fewer days PTO cost more than keeping knowledgeable long term associates. My spouse still, this morning, has a job, but we now have 1/2 as many reasons to stay. If you can, get out. If you are thinking of hiring on, don't. I know too many people in the last 3 years that move here for a job and got laid off before finishing or just after finishing training. Any company that would recruit a new hire knowing they are going to eliminate the position in SCUM. Sam is rolling over in his grave.

Lmao Northwest Arkansas is 90% white of course the layoffs are going to hit that demographic hard.
It happened to me too. After many years of service. Basically they can and will come up with about anything to get someone on the bottom of the forced bell curve. They have to find some way to cut costs after stupid acquisitions and high executive salaries. I would have gladly left Walmart even for a big pay cut
Are you by any chance an older white male? That seems to be consistently the demographic wmt favors for reduction in forces. I left a year or so ago because I thought I would be let go at some point. Sorry for your loss. There are a lot of IT jobs but not in the Nwa area, is my experience. Good luck!
They probably did you a favor!
It really s---s that you lost your job,and I'm sure it hurts. But honestly it sounds like it was due to poor performance. I'm sure you'll find a better fit soon.
I agree with you! I have been with WM for 25 yrs and have seen many instances where they will recruit someone, let them move, leave a job they have and 6 months later eliminate their position.
I would never leave a job that I had to go to WM!
same after 17 years. There is life after Walmart and found better places to shop that are much cheaper I challenge everyone to research groceries Walmart is no longer the low price leader.
Sorry to hear about "layoff". My years at Walmart was some of the most stressful in my life. I jumped ship about a month ago and I haven't looked back.
I have never seen a company go downhill so quickly. I try to say away from large companies as a rule, but Walmart got me when times were lean. I was hoping to stay until my retirement in a few years, but become clear that it would be better to leave at a time of my own choosing.
