Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Field Services

Field operations craft: Have you seen an increase in meetings with management? We have in Dallas. Rumor is company is looking to surplus 30% in IEFS before the merger next quarter. The union appears to be going along with it. Just a heads up!

To question an individual that has lost there job shows the mentality and maturity of the workers employed with ATT. Have you tried to attain jobs elsewhere to see if they are out there? I'm guessing not, then you are a bigot to the subject. To slander a person that has worked in the same respect and say they haven't performed to the companies metrics or kissed enough a$$ above them is ideocracy. To whom these statements anger, they may be the ones fearful of there secrets. What is your knowledge and importance to this company. It sounds like a person has lost there job and is angry about there treatment of the situation. Don't be a hypocrite and degrade to earn enjoyment and comfort in your employment. It may not be there tomorrow...

1yhx says he worked 60 - 70 hours a week but probably spent most the time complaining about bs. The AM got rid of you, live with it,

@VHb7aot-1yhx- Wow, so bitter and angry. And still trolling this site because of it, looking to bring everyone else down. Guys like you always claim you were the best performers and denigrate your peers (you know the ones under the desk)... rather than taking a hard look at yourself and really asking why it was you that was chosen from your group. It is usually always one of a couple reasons: A) You're a poor performer B) Maybe you're an adequate performer but for other reasons you are a pain in your boss's a--. Get over it son. Put some of that energy into finding a new job. And there ARE plenty of good paying jobs out there. Where are you looking in your local newspaper classifieds? If you were as good as you claim to be in Field Services you could get on with one of the many turf vendors or other companies that support AT&T. Or maybe your reputation proceeds you? Hmmm?

Do prem techs get severance package? Can you voluntarily give up your position and get severance if you're on the top of seniority list?

Give me some of that medical m-r-j-a-a that some of you are smoking that makes you think your job is so important to this company. I worked 60-70 hours per week (Salaried) and I was severed in May. Other field managers that did half the work were spared, as they were under the AM's desk instead of in the field doing there J.O.B. For you folks that think jobs are out there awaiting you, wake the F up unless you're ready to earn 9-12 bucks an hour. Keep smoking if you are going to keep the faith. You will find out soon enough.

It really wouldn't surprise me. But I do think 30% before next quarter is not at all likely.

30% would be kind, since they haven't needed half of us or prem techs for the last 5 years. Funny how they don't seem to want to get rid of all prem techs first though and union will just go along.
