Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Sears' loss is our gain

I guess this is a cause for celebration? At least for those on top, I mean. We'll hardly see any positives come out of this, except for more work for same pay.

The Cowen data showed that 92% of Sears' shoppers also shop at Walmart and that there is considerable overlap between their shoppers in terms of age and household income.

They fell dead to greedy stockholders and Home Office. Sound familiar?

Sears, K Mart and a host of other dead and dying retailers fell victim to the natural progression of modern business. Sears reflects a vanished version of America and could not adapt to the current one......but man. I will a l w a y s miss their Craftsman Tool series. They were the best tools with the most awesome service plan of anything in retail----EVER

That's because about 92% of all people shop at Walmart occasionally, means absolutely nothing...

Obviously the sears customers were not spending enough money there to keep them afloat.......dream on if you think there will be a sales boost at WMT.

I also shop at Safeway and Home Depot. One has nothing to do with the other. The same could be said of the comparison made by the Cowen Data. It is just data.

That should be a red flag. Not sure that’s a “gain” Walmart will become another Sears and Kmart.
