There are still many good and talented people working at T but it is almost impossible to get anything accomplished and you feel like you have no job security or future.
Even then nothing substantive will happen because the bulk of technical talent in the work force is gone and what is left is too transient to care or too weak technically to get anything accomplished.
He will need to hire someone to tell him what was considered innovative 10 years ago so he can start to plan the AT&T version of it.
