Has anyone who received the severance payout been denied unemployment?

Question for someone who might have an answer. Has anyone who was “let go” for metric reasons received unemployment without a problem? I’ve heard of people let go for points being denied unemployment. Asking for a friend. Lol
@V60 sounds like a Missouri resident. It's cut and dry in MO. The guidelines in other states are blurry when it comes to qualifying while receiving severance when it is a lump sum payout opposed to recurrent weekly payments just like you were still employed. All states have a dispute or reconsideration process if you are denied. Even if you don't qualify at the moment, they can provide details as to when you may in the future.
I was not denied unemployment in Illinois after filed and waited 2 weeks.
PA, not drawing pension.
Ohio and not drawing pension yet.
Of the responders are all of you from Illinois?
Depends on state and if you are getting pension. In Illinois I was a 30 yr employee who took pension. If I had not taken pension I would have qualified. Some lower pension amts also qualified.
Depends on the amount of severance - and probably the state - I’m a 30 year employee, filed for UC, can’t start collecting until January.
Thanks for discussing this topic. Good to know.
I was not denied unemployment. I reported the lump sum severance pmt and unused PTO pmt. There was a 1 week waiting period and am now receiving the weekly unemployment deposits to my account.
