Nothing will change, which is what LE wants

Now that TK is gone, first step should be to close down centers in India and move development back to US.
This would be a start at a recipe for success, but it won't happen. LE is stupid and old. He is only interested in propping up the stock for the short term. He doesn't care about anything else.
In addition, the Dev org is corrupt, U.S. dev included. The management is made up of sociopaths and their lackeys, who are unbelievably stupid. They sabotage competent developers to force those people out to reduce competition. You can't fix the dev org that was under TK, you have to FLUSH it instead.
If there is no flush of the dev org under TK, there will be no recovery. I worked for 3 managers in TKs org. All of them were pure slime, promoting the dumbest of the dumb for doing their dirty work.

I don't expect managers at TK level to get it, but it should not be hard to copy Google. Hire the smartest and pay whatever is needed. Don't spend a fortune buying companies. Instead, invest in new products and ideas developed within the company.
Don't expect quick results, It will take 5 to 10 years to undo the damage.
LJE is smart. DB tech, under his leadership is oracle db number one still. I still along with many other developers love working with oracle db. It is one of the best!!
Let us hope the next guy (future-bob-miner) has smarts to develop a modular, superbly integrated and automatable middleware that is on par with Db in its vision.
"I don’t know where exactly to lay blame on a company that has absolutely whiffed on every tech trend in the last 15 years and has produced nothing innovative since its founding. But the absolute incompetence of rolling out half baked IaaS and garbage PaaS these last three four years has to lay at TK’s feet."
You know the answer to this. the man who loves conflict and whose ego is bigger than the island he bought. The same man who is immersed in Top down management that one server production line was 24 hours from closing down because this person wasn't around to sign the purchase order to buy parts that only he could sign for. The same person loves conflict so much he needs not one but two CEO's
It lays directly on his feet.
Oracle has a cloud? I thought Oracle was an old legacy on prem database company.
Ah TK, profanity doesn't pay, after all. And to think, you were once reported to be on the Oracle CEO track. You must have enjoyed those meetings because of all the problems being raised like, "We don't really have a cloud solution", "All of our silo'ed cloud groups are fighting among each other", and "Our fragile band-aid IaaS script is broken and doesn't scale".
Feeling bad for your pizza delivery person who is getting your F-bomb barrage now.

We have alienated every on premise customer and shown our a-- to every who attempted to dip their toe into Oracle Cloud. The once mighty Oracle sales team has evaporated. It’s highly paid interns with max 2 years experience trying to Webex their way into a subscription that will never renew
Oracle is gonna crater. And TK will say , "You see. You see what happened after they fired me? The whole company collapsed."
we have a cloud group :) who knew?
why would another top a*hole exec be any different? He (and of course it will be a man) will only do what LJE demands and how much can you do when you're working with c-appy bits and pieces of someone else's acquired code?
"He would force developers to use Oracle tools, even if they weren't the best tools for the job. "
Man, if TK was in any way responsible for mandating the use of that home-grown abomination called ADE for source control management, he should be forced to eat the paper copy of its manual every day for a year. ADE was a steaming pile of dung with a nifty early 90's command line interface. Just because someone wrote a Perl script to do source code control with a Oracle RDBMS backing store, that doesn't mean it's a good idea to force 80K developers to use it. Developers would actually quit once they were shown ADE.
it’s ok to jettison the people actually making the executive’s vision happen, at any time and with veiled prejudice for gender, salary level, whatever. Now the top guy in dev slinks away while lawsuits threaten him, whose efforts cannot even be broken out on the balance sheet and with very little or no news of who is now in charge. Not a good look, Oracle. How’s morale in the cloud group today?
He would force developers to use Oracle tools, even if they weren't the best tools for the job. It worked for awhile. You bought something and you needed to buy SOA, Middleware, Database and others to build out the solution. It would cost millions and would not be a very good or elegant application. It finally caught up to them.
One a*hole goes. He built the drv env and processes yo suit himself. And not whst it should be to create solid products. Hopefully the next guy is a better engineering leader.
