Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Pending Oracle Layoffs in OCI and Classic?

Are there going to be layoffs? in OCI or OCI-Classic (Santa Clara)? And other (S|P)aaS orgs?

It looks highly likely that with TK gone, and the need to inflate profit, there is a possibility of layoffs in these orgs, especially because the moolah is not coming in.

What do you expect? The cloud product in itself is terrible. SLAs are missed all the time. Customers are kept in the dark why a data center all of a sudden is unavailable. Now, they're trying to get the OCIC customers to move to OCI. Good luck with that. And to make things worse, you now have all these Sun people coming on board(more like "I wanna save my hide") and making things worse with people who have no knowledge with the cloud products at all. Try logging an SR and keep waiting and waiting to get your solution to your issue. I've seen and heard enough where if I were Amazon or Microsoft, I would have nothing to worry about Oracle catching up with me. TK is the sacrificial cow and should've been sacrificed at the altar of Shiva many many years ago.

Yes. I saw earlier this week (which makes sense now given the news, I'm in TK org) that team staff reviews will occur at M6+ level to ensure they "better align with our future direction" (i.e. M6+ are discussing the staff/teams). To me it sounds like M6+'s are making a list of who/what teams will be going during the next round of RIF's. With TK gone I do not think there will be any safe areas in the org, there is no telling the persuasion of the person replacing him. Maybe try to accelerate Cloud growth? Maybe "focus on retaining existing revenue" (another recent suggestion that I heard) and reducing high salary positions?
