Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Points

Sad to say points were lifted today but there were no cheers. Employees have nothing left. This comes after we have lost so many great employees to other companies. Its to little to late. And it leaves us wondering just how bad the replacement policy will be because we all know they didn't do this for the employees sake. After all the goal was to reduce the number of employees and expenses. I'm betting the replacement will not include the grace freebies.

Great company- once. Positive environment and encouragement for community service- long disbanded as unnecessary cost. Family Company with benefits better than its competitors- not since at least 5 years ago. Appreciation gifts- chewing gum and taffy (hahahahaha but gave points for people with toothaches) Programs to encourage development- this company has no time for that. It’s so bad for claim to adjuster ratio, the departments are FIGHTING over who’s responsible for doing certain job functions because everyone in drowning in volume. The more morale dips the further production dips... Pay consultants fat $$ to tell you where improvement can be madevs sit with your employees like real leaders and take our recommendations directly from us not thru an expensive third party.

Lots of people in every department don't GAF anymore. It hard to care when nobody knows WTF is going on. Executive and his henchmen are making this train wreck up as they go.

Yay metrics! Now we can’t keep great employees anymore. People leaving in droves either on their own or are getting walked out. At my location management stopped gaf once they made them work tasks. Humiliating and demeaning.

Clarifying my last post. TMs will continue to work 50 to 60 hour weeks due to metrics and EOM. They will just return to doing their own work.

The point system was suspended in some segments, plan to increase staffing, and discontinue TMs from working their 50 to 60 work week, including tasks of CA/CS and involuntary (mandatory ) OT, did not happen because “they heard you”.

Their beginning to realized the amount tenured talent locating jobs with competitors.....employee market. Also suspect some labor law violations.

PIP specialists are still subject to the points system and we are punished for trying to keep our head above water and slowing in SLO. Litigation is a run away train and we are losing tenured employees in the double digits every week in PIP alone. The workload is unsustainable and the VPs just don’t give a damn. Sad part is, line employees know they are full of sh-- and it’s all talk. Small town operation center employees were loyal to the company only to be replaced by cheap Hub labor with no skill set. Now the Hubs are bleeding employees to their competitors. Michael Tipsord, resign before we are insolvent!

Whoever came up with that callous, unjust and punishing point system is either a mo--n or sadist. It's been a literal nightmare for concientious employees who are never, ever late or call out unless there is a very legitimate reason.

Positive reinforcement, not at SF, it would be so easy to implement, love the idea about being rewarded for attendance and why couldn't they use positive reinforcement for a few more things? They could if they wanted to they just don't care, otherwise there would have never been a point system in the first place.

Nope the point system was put in place to punish us all because of a few. and it actually ended up punishing SF because no one wants to come work for an employer that will punish them with points for needing to leave early because their kid got sick at school.

The current leadership from Section Managers and above are only concerned with numbers which equals a bigger bonus for them - that includes overtime which is a big no no in my segment and a last resort if only absolutely the the time cannot be flexed - like our volume allows that ?

I am fortunate to not be in a segment that has the point system . Those dummies can’t get it- if you would reward positive behavior you get happy and engaged employees. How about if no tardiness/unplanned days award a small bonus or an extra day off ? It’s called positive reinforcement you intolerant, greedy a--holes . You have run off solid , dedicated employees by listening to some sh--ty consulting company who know NOTHING about claims - it is a stressful f---ing job you clueless mo--ns. Meherle and Rust SR are looking down and giving the finger to all you incompetent j--koffs .

The point system has resulted that n terminating great employees.

The point system has run off good employees, securing jobs elsewhere.

They got to stop the bleeding

You are the worst person to ever run this company, you hair s---s and your glasses don’t make you looks smart.

I understand it was only a temporary suspension of the points. Also added unlimited overtime.

It's too little too late. Every employee around me couldn't care less about State Farm. They are done. The have screwed over the employees so much that no matter what changes they make no one gives a sh-- about this company anymore. It's just a sh-- job at a sh-- compay. Nothing more.

You can bet your a-- that whatever they come up with will be worse than the point system and to the company's benefit not the employees.

FYI they got rid of points for Property not Express. Express employees are still getting points, supposedly we are supposed to think of times/examples as to when we shouldn't be accessed points. But I don't understand why the point system wasn't lifted for everyone, and just a select few? Makes me wonder what "they" have up their sleeves....I don't trust 'em as far as I can throw 'em...

I think the points system is being used to leave State Farm off the hook for unemployment benefits. They use it to prove that an employee was late or called out numerous times over a period of time. BUT the reason behind those points isn't made entirely clear. There are some perfectly valid reasons why an employee comes in late or has to leave early. Or miss a day. Those situations are never given any consideration for the circumstances. It is a very unjust system and everyone HATES it.

our leaders are thinking up a great new replacement for points— how about corporal punishment! Late to work? Off to the principal’s office for some swats! We are already treated like children so why not?

They got rid of points in claims!?

Basically if you’re late by 6 minutes past your start time, you get a point. Have to leave early one day, 4 points. Up to 20 in 6 months and you get fired.
