Not familiar with this particular change, but some of our HR people are truly the worst. The classic HR person is a middle-aged woman who looks like she’s completely given up on life, but somehow manages to act righteous.... or a middle-age man who is weird with personal space, wears corduroy and generally comes across like a molester. If I get laid-off, the worst part is going to be spending time in a small room with one of those trolls.
What's the change?
We used to be able to bank hours for being on call. A vague policy change like this is how we lost that. Your job may be secure but your Fridays are not. Take vacation for appointments. On call for pennies. Not the job it was. We need more planers, schedulers and project managers to get ready to contract out maintenance.
Nothing to see here. I've been on an AWA schedule since January and have just about zero chance of getting laid off at this point.
