BHGE in shock talks to acquire Schlumberger

Amazing and who would have thought this possible after the Halliburton debacle, however, feedback from high level government meetings in NYC suggest the Trump government would not stand in the way and indeed will support the deal.

GE know they need to be #1 in the industry and taking over SLB is the way to do it. Especially when you have support at the highest of levels in US government.

America First and all that bringing the jobs home

GE share price dropped to 1/3 and they have already going back to their core. Definitely not interested in oil and gas otherwise why they let BH goes?!

They need lots of cash a lot of it.

I hear they have a huge line of credit available to close the deal? Somebody very high up in the USA wants this deal to happen

Certainly a very bold and ambitions move by the young CEO at Bakernatkey

Unfortunately Paal and his gang of bandits will surely get their cut out of this. More money been wasted on those incompetent leaders

I hope this is really true, payback time for this arrogant, bullying and uncaring company that has mistreated it's staff for so many years.

This will only go ahead and get DOJ approval if they set up their manufacturing bases in USA and take them back from China & India. I heard they are buying up a lot of land down sugar land way just outside of Houston where they plan to set up a global manufacturing hub.

Will BHGE keep all the existing SLB product lines? I heard they want to sell Smith low profits businesses

Sounds more like an asset stripping job than a strategy to grow the business.

You will be glad if slb doesn't buy BH for it's market share and GE to diversify it's business!

The first thing BHGE will do is shut down foreign manufacturing sites and move assets to US based facilities. Been done time and again.
