Selling Off Global Operations & Shared Services

Credible rumors this last week that Global Operations is being sold off in pieces with Genpact, PwC, Capgemini, Accenture and others bidding for the various parts. In advance of this, several executives in GGO have been given early retirement packages.

The sale of the Tax Department to PwC is being used as the model to help John make due on his $500 Million savings commitment.

Also, there are rumors that Predix part of Digital might get sold to Microsoft.

Any info on what is going on with Global Ops? Is it all going to GENPACT? Any timelines on when people will be told if they are going with the sale or coming back to Businesses? Any local announcements in Cincy?

Yes... Owen made a bad choice and would still have had a job if he had decided instead to program an app that puts hats on animal pictures. Lolz

And since the model is PwC, make sure you have your plans as many have left either voluntarily or involuntary just 1 year after the failed PwC experiment

(Reuters) - General Electric Co (N:GE) is looking to sell key parts of its digital business, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The industrial conglomerate has hired an investment bank to organize an auction for GE Digital, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.

However, the report did not reveal the exact assets for sale or the potential deal value.

Shares of the Boston-based company rose nearly 1 percent.

GE declined to comment.

Also, hearing that Aviation and other businesses might bring back some of their Indirect Sourcing back to the business but expect that to be a smaller number and thus those without a business level sponsorship will become part of the savings number as GGO Indirect is much bigger than what is going to be allowed given the $500 Million savings goal.

Thus, if you don’t have a seat when the music stops you might not have a guaranteed job.

Actual GE GO employ and yes upper management told us that there's a "chance" that we will be sold to Genpact and part of the agreement is to take all of the GE GO employees in that section. If Genpact doesn't, then we will be looking for either a new job or new position in other sectors of GE.

100% factual. GO is in the process of a massive downsizing. All areas have been put on notice.
