If there are increases in the future health care contributions then why agree on this so soon? Why not hold out for as much ad we could get? It’s not like the contract was going to expire and we were going to be on strike in a week. We obviously had some leverage, now it’s gone.
I’m not saying it’s a bad extension, I’m saying that it could have been better. The union could have tried harder and demanded 3% pay increases each year and no increase in health care contributions after 2019. Nothing to lose by trying, we still have over a year to go.
