Management has THREE passes scheduled, for refining their layoffs planning cycles! The more cycles of planning, the more layoffs! (If they were planning to lay off a mere 10 people, can you imagine more than 1 round of planning?).
I have it from good sources that they pre-plan your "failing grade" at your next review. Get a bad grade? They are greasing the skids to dump you! And you can work super-extra-hard after that bad review, walk on water, invent time-travelling computers, and more, and they will STILL lay you off and blacklist you to boot, then hire an H-1B to replace you, since "they can't find any qualified natives". So don't work extra hard after your bad review, you are wasting your efforts... Well OK, don't work extra hard at HPE, other than to find your next job outside of HPE!!!
Also if you plan to sue HPE in such events, the time is NOW to gather up copies of all your previous reviews, because they may change some of your past reviews retro-actively, from an "A" or a "B", to a "D" or an "F"!!!! (OK so it's not ABC, it's "accelerating", "stalled", "monkey splat", "dead skunk", whatever, they change the labels twice a day it seems).
Expect significant layoffs spread out over the next year, not clumped together too much, don't want to attract too much media attention, the same old deal...
