retention package seems to be another disaster

I heard only a few "unfairly" selected people got the retention rsu, and the rest is totally pissed off. It severely ruins their working morale again. They will be looking for better opportunities and flee away. Then what's the purpose of the retention? last dinner?

@6oue That's fine but Qualcomm SD won't need the amount of people under RW that they have much longer. Any job is susceptible to offspring.

Polish up the resume..... The market is gonna be flooded with network engineers and program managers.

So, when exactly were these 'retention bonuses' handed out? I received a nice quantity at my last review 1 year ago, but nothing during the layoff notices.

Your points about the IT strategy are taken... RW stood in front of her department and touted her successes at her last job finding work for her department with a minimal effect on the livelihoods of her employees. While I agree that RW isn't the source of the strategy ... She is a willing participant in it. Sounds like you are as well.

Offshoring is an IT strategy. RW's counterparts did it also as part of that strategy. She may be complicit, but is not the architect of that strategy.

RW was hand picked by MG a nationwide search for a director level employee?? No MG and RW are joined at the hip. The entire tenure of RW has been to offshore SD based work and she has accomplished this goal. Look for RW to leave within a year with a big sloppy wet kiss from GD and MG.

Re: IT retention bonus ... You are kidding right? This anti-us based IT employee management team ? MG is a hit woman contracted by GD, RW is the subcontractor. These id--ts tore down what was one of the best IT departments into a slum. A sinking ship in shark infested waters. Can't wait to see what happens there over the next year.... Its going to get real ugly.

Major incidents increasing to be an almost hourly evolution with the offshore teams in control. IT is a sh!× storm waiting to happen.

The cio got retention bonus to outsource all work to India.

All it engineers in san Diego are well aware of their fate and are waiting for the package

Man up panzies. If you didn't get the retention RSUs then your boss, and most likely his/her boss doesn't consider you to be a key contributer. Rather than hanging out here b--ching about a bonus that you THINK you deserve, you should be looking for the next job. For those with high pay and significant roots in San Diego, it might make sense to stay. The rest of you puzzies need to GTFO. I suggest you put your energy into looking for a new job rather than complaining.

If you know how to start a lawn mower and you like working outdoors, then my landscape maintenance worker contact might have a position for you.

DSP team members in Austin will flee very fast if fall bonus is not better than last year. I know several have communicated that to me.
