Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Do you kool-aid drinking reps believe me now they raised quotas and sales dollars again

for some perspective: apart from hourly, a typical new hire is guaranteed $1,292 in commission during ramp up. with the new "phones only" quota, it doesn't matter if you are good at sales or not... getting the combination of customers that will buy everything and do it twice takes one up to about the same $ as a new hire if you are lucky. it used to be fun and a steady way to provide for a family. that's what jobs are for...now it's depressing working all month toward a dangling carrot only to decelerate once for lack of phones and once for lack of $ bucket. I feel bad for the managers trying to keep hope alive. it's over.

Tuition assistance is your best friend bud. Get some technical work skills that will get you out of Verizon on their dime. That's what I'm doing. Just 2 months to go. I'll hopefully be out before black Friday

Struggled all month with slow traffic....hustled to try and hit hum quota because yes according to my mangers hum is it’s own metric. At the end of the month I had enough phones for a 1.0 but still didn’t hit $1292! If you don’t do well in EVERYTHING you just don’t do well that’s it. It’s not going to get better from here. Not when customers are using their my Verizon app to check themselves out when they buy accessories in store because the app gives them their full work discount and we only give 10% in store. Why are we fighting against our own company?
