Please, please, please let this be true. The current system is terribly broken. There are associates at my store with up to 19 occurances yet they are still employed, taking up hrs that could be given to those who really want to work. According to personnel they can no longer coach for attendance. That makes no sense!!

They need to do something about all people who abuse intermitade leave. We have associates that have call in for menstral cramps, but her papers are suppose to be used for her foot. Points don’t count or either taken off by AM.

I hope this is right. I'm tired of picking up the slack for those that call in because they broke a nail. Our Pickup DM and DSD associate calls in constantly. Yet asm says they can't coach for attendance any more. WTF!!

Seems like the only ones who have a problem with this new policy are the ones with attendance issues. Hmmm.

To the last poster- you are lying about the Manager having a point keyed before the associate left the parking lot!! That’s not even possible! The exceptions show up the next day in the system, you cannot manually key points.

The turn over rate is very high at our store, and the personal associates point to the current attendance policy as the cause.I know 8 points seem high but people get sick they have family issues.A girl had to leave today because of a sick child the manager had a point keyed in before she left the parking lot.And note they don't take doctors notes or give any discretion no mater what the excuse is so taking that into consecration the point system helps some but not a lot.The new system is likely to add to the already "Very High Turnover Rate" And remember your turn is coming when you have issues and cant show up then you may take a different attitude when you don't have a job.If you are 2 hours late now it's a full point a full day even though you are working. So you hard line approachers your time may come also

When is supposed to go in effect

Exactly! People need to be paid accordingly for working holidays! The place down the road (3M) pays TRIPLE time for all holidays. There's no reason Walmart can't pay at least double time for holidays. This would easily solve their holiday attendance problems. It is what literally almost every other company does, but Walmart would rather piss their employees off than do the right thing.

Ok I’m fine with the 5 points, but really they need to pay us for holidays if they expect to punish us for calling out on them.

Wow. .. I can't imagine which stores have that lax a policy on attendence; when I left WM three years ago, they were brutal about that. Of course, there you'd get coached for chewing gum (literally, saw it happen to a cashier). .... So what with everything else funky going down, if they're really gonna crack down the whips, it does not surprise me.

Honestly they need to do something. Its ridiculous how much people call out and get away with it. 9 occurances is too many for a six month period. I know people that call out every other week and never get coached because they can't be coached for attendance. Every holiday there is a bunch of call outs. It s---s being someone that never calls out and having to pick up the slack of those who call out all the time.
