The big one predicted for August 31 will now happen in late October. More information to follow. But this will be the last big layoff because it will affect all departments and levels and will result in a major transformation of the company.

This OP reads like an end of the world prediction by some crazy preacher.
"Oh the world didnt end on the date i predicted before, but its going to happen in October instead."
LE has borrowed billions over the years to make other investments, buy islands, planes, and what not. The dividends, oracle buying NetSuite for which he personally got a few billion and dividend help, but he still owes lots of money and cannot afford the margin calls if the stock slips. A share price of $30 would totally wipe him out
"Oracle is now only playing the game of propping up the share price so LE doesn’t get margin calls on all the oracle stock he has borrowed money against."
You keep saying this. How much exactly does LE owe? Do you have any idea (links or you don't know), or are you just BSing? He gets almost 1 billion a year in dividends, so why would he have to borrow money to begin with?
Oracle is now only playing the game of propping up the share price so LE doesn’t get margin calls on all the oracle stock he has borrowed money against. Nothing else matters, thus no future for or at oracle. Get out!
Leave and go somewhere that values your work. It’s a terrible company now with a bleak future. Once LE realizes he can’t live forever, he won’t care what happens to Oracle since no one in his family (ex-wives or kids) wants anything to do with Oracle. Left in the hands of MH and SC, Oracle will be chopped into tiny pieces and sold off to the highest bidder.
Slow Bleed Layoff Confirmed by Management.
they will lay off everyone who knows anything, as competent people make the management look incompetent, and we can't have that.
Company Death by 1000 cuts
it's made by design.
the logic behind a single shot is that this way you get max result (big layoff) and min tradeoff (keep high morale on those remaining), but Oracle sees it differently.
Max result for Oracle is min press exposure AND low morale of remainings, number of layoffs on the single shot is somewhat secondary, since doing a daily bleeding will do the same job on a longer term AND helps in maintaining morale down. Morale down means many people will be convinced to look for another job and so Oracle will save money on the severances.
MH is not worried about a low morale of the sales force because he is convinced that the hub model is winning, and in the hub you don't have sales people but simply a wheel in an autonomous engine. a wheel is irrelevant, can be changed at will with a new unexperienced wheel and it will do the job.
Sorry to say but layoff are on though number is in single digits every week in one office or other. Oracle is not firing in a single go like other American companies are doing. This is not good as far as I am concerned. I am low and not putting efforts at work. Just waiting for next employer to hire me, all efforts are on to find new job.
Confucius Has got all his predictions wrong thus far, Lol!. October will come and go then you will see another post from this clown saying November or December layoffs. LOL!!!
I suspect another ‘death by 1000 layoffs’ was pulled back Aug 30. A few sources, including guessing harry, thought something might happen. Alas, it’s not the first time the trigger was modified at the last minute.
I believe Oracle management has clamped down on internal information sharing, after last year's reputable information started flowing in here. That leaves room for clowns like this Confucius halfwit to periodically post bogus vague warnings with make-believe dates.
Emnn so meaty, such insight.
@UVYp1Pb-ysy....Congrats to you! You’ll be happier and more respected on the outside. There IS life after ORCL.
even in hubs, it is not so rose. many young managers learned quickly to make up things, lye to their managers and teams. they want only to become senior managers to have other managers report them. many competent people, leave those hubs but nobody cares.
"These "the big one is coming" postings have lost all credibility. Last year (2017) the information was much more accurate."
true. and we should all ask ourseselves why is that. maybe last year bloodbath in september got too much media coverage, so Oracle is desperately trying to keep everything under the hood now even with this kind of discredit and also obviously lying to press about re-org and layoff..
by the way, I believe there will be no mass layoff. never happened (even last year was 3k out of 130k, hardly a mass layoff), will never happen. but yes there will be continuous bleeding until we transofmr in a very light, small and hub-centric cloud service company.
Yes, confucius say, the dev management is safe. they will lay off everyone who knows anything, as competent people make the management look incompetent, and we can't have that. Looks are everything at Oracle. Fake it all the way..... until no one's buying it anymore.
It doesn't matter if this is right or not. Oracle is dead. You know it's true.
Ship is going down..... waiting for the next earnings call..... love to watch the drama.
Rot in hell, Oracle!
Like the “big one” coming when speaking of earthquakes on the west coast, I do believe the big layoff will come with Oracle layoffs - just don’t know exactly when. The internals for Oracle just don’t tell me anything else. Someone out there tell us something to rest any hope in for Oracle.
These "the big one is coming" postings have lost all credibility. Last year (2017) the information was much more accurate.
I just proudly gave my notice two weeks ago and will be dancing out the door to a much better job. FUMH! I am only staying a little longer to complete a deal with a trusted coworker. Then I am out the door giving sh--head Hurd the biggest middle f---ing finger I can! FUMH you a--hole! You too Safra and Larry. Go to f---ing hell!
managers will stay, right? as per Oracle's tradition, the smart people can go as long their managers remain and pretend they will bring others in their place
Stop with all the BS D*ck Head
